
Maybe the real friends were the 'mons we caught along the way.
- Can only catch the first encounter in an area (area = met location).
- If a Pokémon faints, it dies and must be permanently stored/released.
- Must nickname all Pokémon recruited.
- Catching a Pokémon prevents another Pokémon in that evolution line from being used again during the Nuzlocke.
- A Shiny Pokémon is a free encounter.
- Can use Rare Candies to level a Pokémon up to either: the next Trainer's highest level Pokémon OR the last Trainer's highest level Pokémon.
- Play on Set mode.
- Cannot use healing/stat items in battle (held Items are okay).
- Static/Gift Pokémon count as an encounter in that area.
- Cannot use Legendary/Mythical Pokémon.
- Losing a battle counts as a "Game Over".
- No calcing.
- Cannot look up route/encounter/Pokémon info. (Level caps are exceptions).
- Cannot use Repels in an area with encounter available.
- Cannot use Poké Balls to stall against Trainers.
- Must fight Trainers if they are reasonably in the way.
- When you catch a Pokémon (but before you nickname them), assign a random Trait to that Pokémon. You must train/battle with that Pokémon in a way that showcases their Trait.
- Cannot have more than 6 alive Pokémon at once, including inside the PC.
If you catch/receive Pokémon over the limit, you must release/permabox Pokémon until you have 6. (You can retire Pokémon).
- All encounters are randomized.
